Apple Picking

Today we went to Emmett to the Candy Apple Orchard to pick apples. We had such a wonderful time!! It was pouring down rain here in Boise and we almost didn't go. My friends decided not to go, but Arlen, the kids and I decided we were brave. I am so glad too. When we arrived in Emmett it was sunny and clear. You could see the clouds over Boise and off to the north. We were in a little pocket of sunshine.
Ellyn and Jacob were in heaven out in the orchard. Ellyn kept yelling "my bapple" and running to pick another one. She made her own pile of keepers and no one better think of touching her bapples. Jacob weilded the basket picker thingy. He was up to the challenge and liked to see how many he could get in the picker at one time. I think the most was 3. We got very carried away and ended up with 40 pounds of apples! Can you say sorcerer's apprentice?? I know what I will be doing the rest of this weekend. Peeling and slicing apples for pies, crisps and anything else I can think of. Can I cut anyone a slice?? I will post some pics as soon as I get the film developed. Like a dork, I forgot my camera so I made Arlen stop and buy disposable cameras. Nothing will stop me from a photo op! :)
