We took the kids for pictures today. Our usual bubbly, happy, grinning baby girl was anything but. I swear the camera lady doesn't believe me she even knows how to smile. We were there for two hours making fools of ourselves trying to get Ellyn to smile. I think the funniest part of picture taking is all the antics that happen behind the camera. I know that every time I look at a photo, I think of what we had to do to get that particular shot. At one point in time today we had SaraLee (picture lady), Jake, Mom, myself and one other worker all jumping up and down and blowing raspberries in the air. It was quite a site and yes, we had an audience. You wouldn't know it to look at the picture on the left.

Jacob on the other hand is quite the opposite. When they pose Jacob, he stays posed until they tell him he can move. He will sit there while they move props, focus, move camera, anything. When we were done for the day I asked Jacob to change back into his play clothes. He told me he couldn't because "they might want me to take some more pictures later so I have to be ready". He is something else! Sometimes I wonder what I did to be so blessed with two great kids. Even though Ellyn wasn't smiley, she was mellow and never even wimpered, let alone cry.
Since we were already at the mall we ended up shopping. No suprise there! We spent another 3 hours there and had a blast. Ellyn found the cutest stuffed ladybug. It is almost as big as she is and she LOVES it. She grabs it by the antennae and just jabbers at it and then kisses on it. It is adorable. For family: the ladybug is one of the stuffed collection like the frog Jake had in Ogden that we then had to purchase for all of the cousins. Now they all have one.
